The Iowa Senate is considering three bills that would advance a radical agenda to reshape Iowa’s public universities along ideological lines. These bills - taken almost verbatim from national special interest groups - put partisan politics over student learning, intellectual freedom or institutional health.

Contact state senators and spread the word to everyone - alumni, faculty, parents, students and taxpayers - who shares an interest in protecting robust and independent higher education in Iowa.

Last fall, the Executive Committee of the University of Iowa chapter of The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) became concerned, and then alarmed, about the administration’s proposed changes to the Manual of Policy and Procedure (MOPP) of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).
