ACTION ALERT - Tell State Senators to Protect Iowa’s Universities from National Partisan Attacks

The Iowa Senate is considering three bills that would advance a radical agenda to reshape Iowa’s public universities along ideological lines. On March 12, the Iowa House approved three bills that would erode free speech in the classroom, reduce student choices for courses of study, and eliminate university communities from having a voice in the selection of university presidents. These bills - taken almost verbatim from national special interest groups - put partisan politics over student learning, intellectual freedom or institutional health.

First - Contact state senators to let them know that politics should never dictate what students are allowed to learn or the careers they have the opportunity to pursue at Iowa’s public universities.

Second - Spread the word to everyone - alumni, faculty, parents, students and taxpayers - who shares an interest in robust and independent higher education in Iowa.
